Cassandra Martin, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Cassandra! If you’re struggling with grief, trauma, mood changes, anger, substance use, or the challenges that can come with military life, you don’t have to navigate it alone. I know that reaching out for support can feel difficult, particularly when you’re used to being strong, independent, or managing things on your own. My focus I work with adult individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, grief and loss, trauma, mood disorders, anger, and emotional regulation difficulties. I also have a particular interest in supporting service members, veterans, and those navigating the unique experiences and transitions associated with military life. My approach I draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Process Therapy to help you better understand your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and experiences. Together, we’ll work toward developing healthier coping strategies, increasing self-awareness, and processing difficult experiences. My communication style My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I’ll meet you where you are and work with you to understand the patterns, relationships, experiences, and emotions that may be impacting your life. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, I tailor therapy to your individual needs, strengths, and goals. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I believe that people deserve a safe, supportive space where they can be heard, understood, and accepted without judgment. I’m passionate about helping individuals make sense of their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop the tools they need to heal, grow, and create meaningful change in their lives. My goals for you I believe therapy is not about changing who you are. It’s about creating space to understand yourself, work through what you’ve experienced, and develop the tools you need to move forward.
