*After booking, you will receive a link via Canvas to set up your patient portal. Setting up your patient portal is required to complete your appointment.* I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Psychology from New York University. I later discovered my true passion for social work while volunteering as a Rape Crisis Counselor in local hospitals. This experience provided invaluable insight into advocating for and supporting patients who had experienced trauma, especially during vulnerable moments like those in the ER. Inspired by this, I pursued a Master of Social Work from New York University and have since dedicated myself to working in various mental health and community health settings.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Physical and mental health are often intertwined, and that led to one of my specialties as a therapist: chronic illness and the impact chronic conditions can have on our mental health. This specialty came from a place of personal understanding and desire to validate the prevalence of medical trauma and the impact chronic pain has on our sense of self. While people often think of chronic illness as a physical illness, mental health diagnoses can also be considered a chronic illness. Often, the symptoms of one can exacerbate the symptoms of the other. When navigating a medical chronic condition, therapy is a great space to connect our mind and body better and understand how things like pain or flare-ups can also impact our anxiety and mood. My other specialties include eating and mood disorders, stress, relationship issues, LGBTQ+ affirming care, addiction, and lived traumatic experiences.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When we begin our sessions, we’ll work together to set goals that are meaningful to you. I integrate a variety of therapeutic techniques, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), somatic experiencing, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and psychodynamic therapy. We’ll work collaboratively to identify which approach resonates most with you, and together, we will create a roadmap for your therapy journey. I also emphasize the importance of the mind-body connection, especially for clients with chronic conditions. Therapy can be a powerful tool for understanding how physical symptoms, like pain or flare-ups, might influence your mental health and vice versa. Sessions with me are collaborative—we will continuously check in to ensure you feel comfortable and that we’re making progress toward your goals. Above all, I aim to provide a supportive environment where you feel empowered to make meaningful changes in your life.
