Getting to know Darrlyn Moorer

I'm a native New Yorker passionate about serving the needs of my community. I view the relationship between the clinician and client as a collaboration; I want my clients to truly feel like they are a part of the therapeutic process and are in charge of their counseling experience. I have a broad range of clinical experience in the child welfare, family homelessness, and healthcare fields, and have worked with adults, children, and families. I also have an extensive background providing support to diverse groups of people, including but not limited to those who identify as BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA+. I employ a strengths-based, client-centered, trauma-informed approach in my practice and utilize Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Bereavement Counseling, and Crisis Intervention. I earned my Master's in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College, City University of New York. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe environment where we can explore your primary interests, identify goals, and develop a treatment plan to fit you and your aspirations.
