“Been working with Dr. Laramie for about a year and half, weekly. He is caring and actually listens. He is patient with my long rants. He doesn't shove advice in your face, rather works with you to find the solution. Had an emergency, texted him and he called right back outside the scope of our therapy session. Always timely with appointments, and is super friendly.”

“Dr. Laramie at first can seem a little stiff but once you gain the courage to open up, he follows suit. He very much mirrors your state with excellent intuition and can cut through any BS you may be harboring.”

Getting to know Dr. David Laramie

In these challenging and uncertain times, please know that I am currently meeting with all patients via secure, encrypted online video. I invite you to give me a call or make an appointment if you are interested. Dr. David Laramie is a licensed clinical psychologist with a deep belief in the importance of integrative, mind-body approaches to mental health. He was the 2014 President of the Los Angeles County Psychological Association and continues to be very involved in his professional community. His doctoral studies focused on Health Psychology and he has taught the subject to graduate students. He has sought out extensive training in mindfulness meditation, existential and depth psychotherapy, and a host of mind-body approaches including breathwork, biofeedback, energy psychology, and somatic awareness. He utilizes all of these practices in his own life to cultivate balance and contentment. His 2006 doctoral research on cell phones anticipated the shadow side of the constantly connected, smartphone lifestyle. He presented that work at conferences and was interviewed about it by the New York Times and NPR. He continues to be interested in the benefits and risks that come with technology and helps his patients be aware of their relationships with it.

Good and trustworthy. I'm happy I found him.
Dr. Laramie has an incredibly calming presence. I was able to feel more comfortable opening up to him in a manner I have not experience with other therapists. He helped me to reflect on my issues very effectively.
I instantly felt very comfortable with Dr. Laramie. He doesn't just sit and stare. He asks questions and engages, which makes therapy so much easier, and let's be real, way less awkward.
