Getting to know Dominika Bredova
I believe you have the resources within you to heal, and I am here to support you in tapping into them. With a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from New York University, I bring both education and empathy to our work together. We will create a safe space for you to talk about your deepest wounds. It will not always feel comfortable, but the counseling room is a place for you to heal, explore who you are, and experiment with new behaviors that can be implemented in your daily life.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Having moved countries multiple times, I can deeply relate to the stressors and challenges associated with settling in a new place and leaving friends, family, and pets behind. These experiences also taught me that while people come from different backgrounds, we can still bond over similarities or by exploring our differences
I obtained my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at New York University. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, during which I worked with children and adolescents.
.In addition to English, I can offer sessions in Czech and Slovak.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I primarily work with adults, partners, and couples on their journey towards a fulfilling life. My counseling practice is grounded in a person-centered approach, embracing your uniqueness and respecting your autonomy. Additionally, I include the use of existential therapy, internal family systems (IFS) and acceptance, based on your needs and preferences.

I was nervous to start therapy, but Dominika made it feel safe. Having that time just for me each week has been really valuable. She really listens, and I feel heard in our sessions.
