Getting to know Erin Foster

Founder therapy and family dynamics counseling for entrepreneurs, CEOs and multigenerational families. Building a company, or inheriting one, changes what happens at home. Founders come to me for burnout, co-founder conflict, the isolation of being the one in charge, and the toll success quietly takes on a marriage. High-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth families come for what rarely gets said out loud: sibling conflict over the family business, succession and inheritance tension, a rising generation without direction, prenup and blended-family strain, and substance use that has been managed in private for years. I've worked inside these rooms for decades: executive coaching for Fortune 500 leaders, psychological consulting for the entertainment industry, and family dynamics consulting for multigenerational family offices. Expect discretion, direct feedback and a clear plan. I see individuals here; for co-founder pairs, couples and whole-family work, ask about Kinfort, my family dynamics practice.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My clients are founders, executives and members of a family-business or family-office enterprise. I'm warm, but I'm direct: I'll tell you what I see, including the patterns that are costing you at work and at home. Everything stays confidential.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session maps the whole picture: you, your relationships, the business and the family system around it. Within the first few sessions I'll share my read on what's driving the problem, a treatment plan and what progress should look like. Founders usually work weekly on burnout, leadership pressure, co-founder conflict and relationships. When the issue lives in the family system, such as succession, inheritance, sibling conflict or a struggling adult child, we may bring in a partner, co-founder or family members for joint sessions.

Dr. Foster was immediately able to recognize and label the specific events I was contending with. She provided tools and an accesible plan for mitigating the the hurdles I was facing, over the long term. Knowing she has my back for check ins and accountability is really key. She was also able to advise me on processes to help my kids so I could manage my own mental health while supporting my kids.
Erin was an incredible therapist and I am so grateful for the years I spent in sessions with her. She is warm, inviting, and always facilitates a productive yet challenging conversation! Would recommend her to anyone seeking therapy!
Dr. Erin Foster got me through one of the worse times in my life, I was going through what felt like hell to me at that time and I don’t know if I would’ve made it if I hadn’t met her. What I really liked about my close to 1 year sessions was that she is not only brilliant as in she would teach me the “science” behind a lot of human actions/behaviors but she is also very spiritually gifted. She created such a safe space for me to dig into some of my deepest feelings, memories, fears. I grew and healed so much during this time. She was a big support system through my sons custody case and kept me sane, strong through our sessions. When my friends tell me about bad experiences with their therapist/therapy I always say they don’t have the right one. Because my experience was amazing, and became such an advocate for mental health among my family and friends. I still miss her to this day and will be forever grateful for helping me get through a very dark time in my life!!
I absolutely love Dr. Foster. She really listens and help you unfold all the knots that need to be straightened out in your life. She became someone I counted on to be able to re focus.
Dr. Foster truly expresses a desire to see me become successful in my treatment. She makes me feel comfortable enough to share anything and everything with her, she doesn't act like she is perfect but just wants to help make me better a person. Dr. Foster is open-minded and demonstrates a strong willingness to solve my problems
Dr Foster is an excellent counselor, she always gets me to process and work out my problems! She is very patient, and attentive
Dr. Erin Foster has been an amazing! Her unwavering support, genuine care, and dedication to my progress are truly commendable. It's clear that she's made a significant positive impact in my life, and continues to do so.
Dr. Foster is an exceptional therapist, and it's very apparent that she takes a personal interest in her clients. Her caring and compassionate approach helped me process some deep prior trauma... and move beyond it in a healthy and natural manner. I am extremely grateful for her support over the past two years.
I have been a client of Dr. Foster for 16 years. Erin is an empathetic therapist that gives you true, real guidance and advice that can impact your life profoundly in a positive light. She has helped me throughout my adolescent years into adulthood and through issues of death, addiction, and co-parenting / martial issues. She hits every box for an amazing therapist. I couldn't recommend her enough for anyone in any avenue of life.
