“I've been treated by Francis Abanilla for the past 8 months at the Murray Hill StarPro location. I had a severe shoulder injury and in addition to a lot of pain I was unable to raise or extend my arm outward. Francis worked patiently with me to slowly build my strength and teach me how to use the muscles that were intact to increase my arm's functionality. He is a wonderful therapist and very caring person. He's always positive, upbeat, and encouraging and listens and responds to questions and concerns. He varies the activities whenever he can to keep it interesting. His knowledge and professionalism has enabled me to avoid shoulder surgery and do things I didn't think would be possible. The entire staff at StarPro are caring and supportive and I highly recommend them!”

About Francis Abanilla

Francis is from Astoria, NY where he grew up an avid baseball player and first experienced the world of PT addressing his sport-related injury. Francis graduated with a B.S. in Health Sciences from Mercy College and went on to get his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University. Francis worked as an aide for 2 years in Professional PT's Murray Hill clinic prior getting his doctorate degree and returned back to his home office to begin working as a PT. Francis has experience working with orthopedics, sports, geriatric, inpatient acute care and neurologic patient populations through his clinical rotations. In his free time, he still enjoys playing softball/baseball, exercising and working on his car.
