We can all likely relate to the negative thoughts, emotional patterns, and behaviors that sometimes keep us down for longer than feels healthy. Once we identify some of our problem areas and engage our minds towards active progress, we can begin the process towards feeling lighter and more at ease with ourselves. My goal as a therapist is to help provide the warm, encouraging space that will help create a foundation for this type of empowerment and healthy change. My approach I lean strongly on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to promote a healthy examination and adjustment of unhealthy thinking patterns and behaviors. I also use solution-based principles that help us imagine and construct both short- and long-term therapeutic goals. My focus I work with teenagers and adults who struggle with mood or anxiety-related symptoms, and those who simply want something better in their lives that may appear out of reach. Together, we work to identify and address the presenting issues and collaborate to create goals that will help you achieve steady improvement over time. My communication style I prioritize maintaining a strong foundation for warm, honest, and open communication from the outset. I strive to actively listen and convey empathy in a way that promotes insight, self-reflection, and growth in the therapeutic space. My journey to mental healthcare I remember always having a deep appreciation for the complexities of the human mind. Along with this, I held a desire to learn about how the interaction of one's genes, environment, and experiences impacts their development and lives. I began my therapy journey working with forensic populations, those who were often suffering from various forms of trauma and whose lives were profoundly impacted by these same interactions. My experience as a therapist has since then continued to be grounded in a deep-seated curiosity of the human condition - and its striking resilience
