“I started therapy with Dr Hector Lopez a few days ago. I think he’s a very good Physical therapist. I was impressed by his careful listening to patients. He explained to me why he prescribed the exercises I was given and how it would help me get back to doing the things I want to do. He is a good judge of how much of an exercise to do or weight to use, after I did what he said I found it challenging and tiring but ok. I went to see Hector as some years ago I had terrible neck pain and I had been getting PT for it through another therapist for a couple of months but I continued to have pain. On one complementary visit I saw Hector on account of this pain and he gave me one more exercise, this really helped and got rid of the pain after a couple of days! So I’m really hoping he can get me back to hiking and biking ??”

My path to physical therapy as a career began with a hand injury that made me a patient back in high school. After discharge, I volunteered with my therapist, which gave me a greater appreciation for what goes on behind the scenes. In college, I held multiple physical therapy aide positions to immerse myself in the field and experience different settings. I graduated with a B.S. in Exercise Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick. Following that, I worked as a personal trainer, helping people from all walks of life with a special interest in return to sport. I returned to school and earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from Seton Hall University in 2015. Afterward, I worked for Professional Physical Therapy in NYC before moving back to NJ. I am American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) credentialed as a clinical instructor, and I plan to sit for and earn my Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification next year.
