My experience in therapy has been wonderful! James has been incredibly helpful. I enjoy our conversations and have learned valuable tools for managing life stressors.
For me treatment for mental health issues always seemed so abstract or intangible. I like that James focuses on concrete strategies by guiding our sessions with thoughtful questions or showing me exercises that bring my anxious mind back to the present. It helps me feel like I am more in control, which allows me to focus on my strengths while also being able to give myself grace. Even on the days I don't feel like talking about "my stuff" I never regret attending our sessions just for the simple positive outlook on life that he gives me which usually lasts until the next session.
I've worked with a few therapists in the past, and finding one that specializes in trauma has made all the difference. I appreciate that I don't have to share more than I'm comfortable with at any given time, and that James is still able to work with me and guide me through my tough feelings or memories that come up. Our sessions always end with 1 or 2 things for me to think about during the week until. My next session. While he is very professional I can also tell that he cares and that means alot.
So kind. Great listener. Connected with me. Had questions to help us get started. Then explained his methods to me, which are solutions oriented.

James is absolutely amazing. From our first session, he made me feel so comfortable. He's a wonderful listener, but, more importantly, offers proactive and tangible ways to combat issues, such as anxiety and depression using actionable solutions to promote calm and centeredness. I couldn't recommend him more. You can tell how passionate he is about his profession and how much he truly loves helping people. I look forward to our sessions all week. I would give him 10 stars if I could.
