Getting to know Jenise English

Disclaimer: Providers at Canino Psychotherapy focus on therapy services and do not prescribe medication, as they are not psychiatrists. Asking for help can be one of the hardest steps toward addressing any issue or dilemma you may be facing. I am here to support you through those steps toward progression. Opening up and trusting someone is a process and can be difficult. My goal is to create a safe space for you to grow as a person in any aspect of your life. As a clinician with a Master's in Social Work from the City University of New York, I have experience working with people from different communities, cultures, and age groups. I use a trauma-informed care lens to help me see individuals based on their strengths rather than the problems surrounding their circumstances. Life can be hard, and having someone to support you through the different stages you experience can be essential. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Informed Care. My areas of expertise include families, children, young adults, older adults, depression, anxiety, psychotic disorders, first break psychosis, behavior management, and life transitions. My style of therapy is truly tailored to the person I am working with. I believe it is important to meet people where they are and offer support that is individualized to their needs.

I received an email saying that the provider would send me instructions on how to join my video visit. I did not receive any email. I even called the number provided and there was no answer. Highly disappointed with this lack of professionalism.
