Hi! My name is Jessica Matthews, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York. I earned my Master's in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire. I will meet you where you are and focus on what's best for you. We might also use CBT, DBT, mindfulness, ACT, and other modalities as appropriate. My focus I have found that my style and approach work well with adult and geriatric populations. I have experience working with a variety of conditions, most commonly treating anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment disorders, life transitions, stress management, emotional regulation, anger, and ADHD. I help my clients navigate life transitions and challenges by building the skills necessary to be successful and reach their goals. My communication style My communication style is open, honest, non-judgmental, and personable. It's important to me that my clients feel safe and comfortable discussing what they're going through. I take pride in my ability to connect with clients and develop a strong, healthy therapeutic alliance. My journey to mental healthcare I have always wanted to help people, which is why I became a therapist. From a young age, I understood the impact of mental health and wanted to make a positive difference for those struggling. My friends often came to me for advice, which was a great compliment and one of the reasons therapy felt like the right path for me.
