Getting to know Jessie Huffman

I am a Colorado native and although my undergraduate degree in Psychology took me to Northern California for four years, I always knew I would return home to Colorado for my graduate studies. I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Denver in 2015, where I chose a concentration in Family Systems due to my love of working with adults, teens, children, and their families. After gaining extensive experience as a Denver based mental health clinician in group practice, I am thrilled to bring this knowledge to private practice in my hometown of Basalt. When I am not in the office, I enjoy hiking, skiing, volunteering, and cooking for friends and family.

What should a new client know about working with you?

If you are looking for a therapist who embodies the three C's- compassionate, caring, and capable, I would love to work with you. Each person who enters into therapy deserves a safe space and a trusting relationship as a backdrop from which to heal, grow, and create desired change within one's life. As someone who has walked the long and ever evolving path of healing myself, I am extraordinarily empathetic to all you may be experiencing currently, in present day, or what you may have endured in the past. Even if you are unsure about what you want to address in therapy, I can assist you in gaining clarity and moving towards the fulfillment you seek.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I specialize in work with couples, teens, adult individuals, and seniors. My practice is currently all Telehealth.
