My approach I use cognitive behavioral and narrative therapies to help you make healthier choices in your life that support your mental health more effectively. With compassion and humor, I will help you to determine how to approach situations and increase your ability to feel peace in your daily life. My focus I focus on helping you to change the ways you see yourself, how you take care of yourself, and how you relate to other people. I may incorporate DBT and EMDR skills to help you learn to regulate your emotions and tolerate distress. My communication style I prioritize clear, open communication to create a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I practice active listening and will give you opportunities to reflect on your experiences with me as an empathetic partner. If we’re working through something challenging, you can expect me to be calm and patient. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist began in adolescence as my own family faced multiple mental health challenges. It was my mother who told me I was a good listener and would make a great therapist. She was right! I thoroughly enjoy the work I do and feel honored to work alongside clients trying to make sense of their personal circumstances. My goals for you I will help you determine the path you want to take to achieve the goals that are important to you. My first session with you In our first sessions, we will discuss your areas of focus, identify your needs, and the barriers you have to meeting them. We will work together to determine multiple factors that may be influencing your ability to function and feel the way you would like.
