Getting to know Dr. Jonathan Fricke

Hi, I'm Jonathan. I'm a down-to-earth, easygoing guy and a therapist with a PsyD and Master’s in Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester. I often find myself working well with those hoping to get more out of life, whether that involves building confidence, developing good relationships, creating positive habits, understanding your identities, or adjusting to new life circumstances.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You'll hear me use the word "wonder" a lot in therapy (e.g. "I wonder if...", "I wonder how...", "I wonder why..."). That's because I'd like to get to know you; who you were, who you are, and who you'd like to become. I'll listen without judgment to really understand you, but also gently push you to be the best version of yourself. After all, we're here to solve problems and find solutions. While therapy can look a lot of different ways, I've found that transparency, humor, and consistency are a few of the key ingredients.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Before we meet, we'll have a 15-minute phone consultation so I can hear a bit more about what you're looking for, answer any questions you have for me, and see if we might be a good fit to work together. I typically meet with folks on a weekly basis as that consistency tends to yield the quickest and best results.
