Getting to know Joshua Ring

I have always been interested in how people relate in and with the world. From as far back as early childhood, I was curious about what inspired people to make decisions and how each individual is uniquely driven by what is often unseen. I came to psychotherapy through teaching. I was working in early childhood education at a school founded by modern psychoanalysts. I found the use of emotional communication fascinating and the resulting growth of the children in this program remarkable. Because of this experience I chose to attend graduate school for social work and begin my road toward becoming a therapist. I am now a certified psychoanalyst, having graduated from the Center For Modern Psychoanalytic Studies in Manhattan. Over the years I have worked with a varied population in a wide range of clinical settings, including hospital emergency rooms, oncology units, outpatient psychiatry and children's outpatient therapy clinics.
