About Keven Duffy
When coming to a therapist for help, you are sometimes clear on your conflict/issue. But at other times, it's more a vague feeling of unease - that your life isn't going as it should. My empathic and attuned psychoanalytic approach is geared towards either person. Some of areas of expertise are anxiety, identity, interpersonal issues and narcissism - including adult children of narcissists.I am very open, non-judgmental, and inquiry-based. I'm here to help you find a solution. The goal is to find a more meaningful and satisfying way of living. With a background in addiction disorders, I find that many problems arise from unresolved issues. My work has provided me with experience working with grief, trauma, depression and low self-esteem as well as relationship issues that run concomitant with these issues. I am certified in both DBT and EFT for couples. I also have a background as an executive and thus am attuned to high stress work issues that can affect all aspects of one's life. My experience in high-intensity work situations provides me with a shorthand to understanding how to navigate office politics and manage the expectations of self and others.

Patient reviews for Keven Duffy, LCSW
When I first started therapy, I thought if my life could just be improved by 20% then therapy would be worth it. After working with Keven for a little over a year, my life has improved in so many ways that it'd be impossible to quantify! Keven showed me that a lot of the ways I conceived of the world and my relationships with other people were fundamentally toxic and harmful to my own happiness. Issues that I thought would follow me for the rest of my life (anxiety, OCD tendencies, etc.) resolved themselves after a couple months of therapy, even though we didn't necessarily address the exact issue at hand. Keven also helped me establish boundaries with my family and my friends, which gave me the space to treat myself better and respect myself more. I assumed life was never going to get better for me, that some of the ways I thought about the world and myself could never be fixed. Therapy with Keven showed me that I do have a lot more power over myself than I thought - I have the ability to establish boundaries, build myself up, and resist toxic thoughts. I cannot recommend seeing Keven enough - our appointments are the most important hour of my week!
I've been seeing Keven for about six months, and I can't recommend her enough. I am in my mid-twenties, and Keven has helped me tremendously. I originally started seeing her to work on some difficult issues related to my job. She was very easy to talk to, and I felt comfortable with her from the start. Extremely smart and analytical, she helped me to see both myself and certain situations from a different perspective, and I am in a much better place now because of that insight. We have moved on to working on personal and family issues. At Keven's suggestion, my mom has joined us for some sessions, and that has been incredibly positive as well. Keven has helped us to tackle some uncomfortable and unpleasant issues, while always ensuring that we each felt safe and understood. While Keven is incredibly warm and compassionate, she does not hesitate to challenge me when necessary. I am so grateful to have found her, and I recommend her wholeheartedly.
Working with Keven was incredibly helpful and valuable for my overall well being and mental health. I came to her at a difficult time and immediately found her to be someone that listened, 'got it', and was comfortable and easy to talk to. She was professional while still being warm and casual, making it easy to develop a good rapport. Keven worked to help me learn how to think differently about things, how to manage my own thoughts and emotions, and from our time together, I can truly say my well being drastically improved and I now feel I'm better equipped with the skills to manage my mental health and well being moving forward. I would highly recommend her to anyone struggling and unsure of how to get help.
Keven is an incredible therapist who I would recommend to anyone looking to cope with depression, anxiety, or stressed caused by any number of factors. As a young professional adjusting to life in the city, I was a complete shell of myself during my first session with her and she listened and helped me feel so much better within just a couple of sessions. She has a very friendly, relaxed, non-judgmental manner which makes sessions feel less like “therapy” and more like chatting with/venting a friend who has provided some invaluable advice and coping techniques that have had a visibly positive impact on my life. Put simply, I can’t recommend Keven highly enough.
Keven changed the way I thought about therapy. It used to be something to dread, but after meeting with her, I was able to learn many valuable tools in coping, understanding and accepting things in my life. Keven is very easy to talk to, listens intently and you never feel 'judged', while at the same time you know she has your back and best interests in mind. I highly recommend Keven.
I have been working with Keven for 9 months and I often describe my life as “pre-Keven” and “post-Keven” because she has helped changed my life in so many positive ways. She has a relaxed, non-judgmental demeanor and has guided me through coping skills that actually work and fit with my personality. I highly recommend Keven to anyone seeking support for anxiety, depression, relationship help and work-environment stress.
Keven is warm, professional and nonjudgmental. It was my first therapy session ever and I could not haven been more at ease with Keven’s style. Looking forward to the next one.
