Hello, my name is Dr. Kimberly Light, and I am a clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. I earned my PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the University of La Verne. My goal is to help my clients resolve both current and past struggles so they can reach their full potential. My approach is well-rounded, incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, trauma counseling, and other methods tailored to each individual's needs. I have worked with a diverse range of clients, from school-aged children to elderly individuals in nursing homes facing end-of-life issues. My experience includes forensic psychology, individual therapy, couples counseling, family therapy, and group therapy. I prioritize creating a supportive and respectful environment where clients feel understood and heard. I encourage growth and will respectfully challenge clients to promote change at a pace that feels comfortable for them. My journey into mental healthcare began in high school when I participated in a peer counseling program. I instantly fell in love with the work and knew this was my calling. I have never looked back or regretted my career in this field. Therapeutic goals are always created collaboratively between my clients and me, with the client's priorities guiding the process. In our first session, I focus on establishing trust and security, as this foundation is essential for a successful therapeutic relationship.
