Laura is an empathetic and compassionate psychotherapist dedicated to guiding individuals on their journey toward mental and emotional well-being. With a strong commitment to respect and collaboration, she employs an integrative approach tailored to each patient's unique needs, ensuring that therapy is both effective and personalized. Laura’s therapeutic practice draws from a diverse set of modalities, including solution-focused therapy, acceptance-commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and strength-based therapy. This eclectic approach allows her to address a wide range of concerns, including trauma, addictions, substance use, anxiety disorders, and depression. Her experience spans a broad spectrum, from inpatient and outpatient settings to corporate environments, and includes work with federal inmates to support their reintegration into society. Before pursuing her Master of Social Work, Laura obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Organizational Psychology and honed her skills in the corporate world. She began her career at Cenovus Energy, where she co-owned the Leadership Development portfolio within the Organizational Development & Effectiveness team. She then advanced to MAYBERY, a global advisory services firm, applying performance psychology and best business practices to foster performance excellence among corporate leaders and executives.

What should a new client know about working with you?

All sessions are conducted in person at the Gotham Psychotherapy offices. For patients located outside of the five boroughs, we offer telehealth visits. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Additionally, some of our therapists are available for early morning and evening appointments. Please refer to our Zocdoc schedule for complete availability

The typical process Gotham Psychotherapy uses to work with patients involves several key stages, each aimed at understanding and addressing the patient’s psychological and emotional needs. This process includes: Initial Consultation, Assessment, Treatment Planning, Therapeutic Intervention, Monitoring and Evaluation, and Termination. Throughout the entire process, Gotham Psychotherapy maintains a supportive, empathetic, and non-judgmental stance, fostering a therapeutic alliance that encourages open communication and trust. This process is dynamic and adaptable, with the therapist continuously tailoring their approach to best meet the evolving needs of the patient.
