Getting to know Laurie Powell

Hello, I'm Laurie. I believe everyone has the capacity to grow, heal, and change. Anxiety, depression, and trauma are just a few of the issues I work with in therapy. The past few years have been difficult in a lot of ways. My clients would say I value being approachable, authentic, and creating a therapeutic space that is safe and non-judgmental. I take a trauma-informed, whole person approach to therapy. I use a variety of techniques based on what works for you. I believe in client-centered care, meaning we will work together to figure out the best approach based on your unique goals. My focus is on helping you build confidence and resiliency to allow you to be the best version of yourself. I have over a decade of experience as a therapist working with adults. I completed my Master of Social Work in 2011 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2014. Prior to opening up my practice, I worked as a therapist in community mental health in Colorado for over ten years. My clients have come from diverse backgrounds and have diverse experiences and challenges. I have worked with all ages but my main focus has been working with adults ages 18 and up. I offer virtual and online sessions throughout the state of Colorado to increase access to therapy for people who are juggling busy schedules or live in remote areas of the state and have limited access to care.
