What should a new client know about working with you?
My main goal is to first and foremost provide you with a relationship that will offer new perspectives that you otherwise would not have access to. I typically start by working with you to identify your values so we can both decide what direction therapy can take. I will be learning about you but also striving to challenge you. There will be as many moments that I am open to hearing your story as there will be me asking you to practice some skills and taking active steps towards your happiness.
*Please kindly note that we do not provide psychiatry services (medication) and are unable to accept Medicaid insurance plans at this time.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our first few sessions will focus on information gathering and building a relationship. Once we are familiarized with each other, a typical session would include a follow-up of any discussion we had in our previous session and steps that were expected to be taken. Afterward, I will ask us to choose a focus for our session collaboratively - spend time exploring the topic (a chosen barrier, relationship, symptom, etc.) eventually moving toward identifying specific steps you can take to navigate the concern that is in line with your goals and values.

Mr. Marino is an excellent therapist. As a South Asian immigrant, it is so difficult to find a therapist who understands your cultural and religious background. I felt so understood and supported by Mr. Marino. He is truly a non-judgemental therapist and has a very friendly personality. It was so easy to open up to him. I will recommend him for ppl from marginalized backgrounds.
