Hi there, I'm Leyla! Starting therapy can feel scary, especially when it means opening up about things that feel personal or difficult. My goal is to approach your journey with empathy and create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your feelings at your own pace. My approach My approach in sessions is primarily person-centered, allowing clients to take the lead while I provide support when difficult topics arise. I believe it’s important for clients to open up at their own pace, since sharing takes courage and trust is built over time. Most of my sessions are rooted in talk therapy, though some clients prefer incorporating “homework” such as worksheets or journaling to track progress and encourage reflection. Others benefit from a mix of both. I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients notice unhelpful thought patterns, manage emotions, and build practical coping skills. I also enjoy working with clients on developing social skills, like communication, building friendships, and handling conflicts, as well as executive functioning skills such as organization, planning, and time management. These tools can be especially helpful for children, teens, and young adults who are navigating school, relationships, and growing independence. My focus I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals and those with diagnoses such as autism, ADHD, depression, or anxiety, with a focus on children, adolescents, and young adults. I also support clients who are navigating life transitions, identity exploration, self-esteem challenges, and managing stress. I can support these needs by providing a safe, nonjudgmental space and helping clients build coping skills. My communication style I bring empathy, active listening, and open-ended questions to help clients feel understood and comfortable sharing what’s on their mind.
