Louis E. Flores is a NY-licensed master social worker since 2003. Louis has worked as a social worker for 20 years with persons facing stress challenges where they feel overwhelmed, worried, and depressed with demanding relationships and addictive/compulsive situations very successfully. Louis also has successful experience in addiction treatment settings when he was a CASAC working with people with substance use and mental health and legal problems. Louis believes that all people have the ability to change, improve, and use or discover their own personal strengths to not only survive but thrive. Louis is a psychotherapist who believes people can be empowered to believe in themselves and improve their quality of life. Louis earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, from St. Joseph’s University, a Master of Divinity from Alliance Theological Seminary, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Adelphi University. He has trained intensively in useful and current treatment modalities
using them in therapy sessions and starting where the client is at.
Louis can work with adult patients from ages 18 to advanced senior age. Louis treats persons with stress, trauma, self-esteem and relationship and life transition issues as well as anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive thinking. Louis is trained in Cognitive-behavioral therapy, Dialectical Behavioral therapy, and Motivational
Interviewing. Also, in Trauma-informed interventions and EMDR, and has used 12 steps and Pastoral Counseling if the client seeks such. Louis enjoys reading, research, current events, learning languages, good food, and friendships, caring for his family, and walking 3 miles a
day, 4 -5 times a week. Louis enjoys a good work-life balance. Louis speaks native-level Spanish and English.
