Macy Weinman, MHC

Psychotherapist
299 Bdwy, Ste 905, New York, NY
Any one of life’s challenges can bring someone to therapy. I welcome people, whether they want to discuss one issue or several. I also welcome people who don’t know exactly where, or how, to start therapy but are ready to try. In our work together, I’ll listen for material beneath the challenges bringing you to treatment, and we’ll begin to replace old patterns with more effective ones. We’ll expand what’s possible, both within yourself and in your interactions with the world around you, finding ways for you to try something different. My approach is grounded in care and a sensitivity to working at each person’s pace. I center a psychodynamic framework and use insight-oriented techniques to increase our understanding of the complex, psychological dynamics that are often overlooked in the fast pace of life. I incorporate behavioral interventions too, adapted for each person I treat. My clinical practice is informed by 20 years of teaching experience. As a trauma-informed teaching artist in New York City’s public elementary schools, I offered creative movement classes to English language learners and diverse learners. Today, I continue to warmly greet people of all identities and cultural backgrounds. You're welcome to schedule an appointment. Upon receiving your booking, I'll contact you regarding appointment details.
