Getting to know Dr. Marina Stolerman

Hello! I am a psychologist with nearly 20 years of clinical experience. I offer individual therapy to adults dealing with stress, depression, anxiety and change of life issues. I help people get a better understanding of the deeper patterns and meanings behind their behaviors and relationships. I am especially attuned to issues relating to immigration, work/life balance and addressing family conflicts. I have spent many years working in nursing homes and as a Medicare provider I welcome the chance to help older adults manage the unique challenges in their stage of life. I have a specialty in supporting neurodivergent children and their families. If you have a child with Autism, ADHD, is twice exceptional, learning differences, or who has an IEP, you might be feeling overwhelmed, isolated from other parents, misunderstood by providers. If you're feeling this way, I'd like to give you a sense of hope - with intervention things can be better for everyone! I find it so gratifying to help families, including the child, parents, and siblings have a greater sense of peace and more enjoyable relationships. Specific issues addressed might be emotional regulation, school difficulties, anxiety, and social skills.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I am direct, warm, practical and have a sense of humor. I am happy to collaborate with families, schools and other professionals that are supporting you. Parents appreciate that I help them understand their child's unique neurological wiring while building practical strategies that actually fit their life. My adult and older adult patients feel comfortable quickly because I take them seriously, listen deeply and am genuinely curious about their inner lives. I value their lived experience and make space to discuss difficult topics. I accept Medicare and self-pay clients and can provide superbils for insurance reimbursement.

Dr. Stolerman is the best! Been to two therapists in the past, but always felt stuck and distant. Dr. Stolerman "got me" right away, and I feel present and connected in conversation with her. Highly recommended.
Dr. Stolerman is kind, patient and very easy to talk to. I feel comfortable bringing up anything, big or small. Her advice is never pushy and always valuable. My best therapy experience to date.
