Marissa Robinson is extensively trained in Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP) and other relational and experiential modalities. She draws upon Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to support her work, helping you feel resourced and capable of taking on daily life. Marissa integrates mindfulness and somatic interventions within each session. She is passionate about holistic wellness and views each individual within their own context. Marissa's approaches are evidence-based, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Each session is rooted in warmth, compassion, and positive energy.
Marissa believes everybody deserves a space to recharge, reconnect, and refuel-especially in chaotic New York City. She supports her clients in identifying and attaining their full potential. Marissa knows her clients are doing their best but may still face panic, messy transitions, anxious thoughts, insecurities, feelings of overwhelm, questions about their future, and relationship issues that disrupt daily life. This is where therapy comes in.
Through her experiential, strengths-based, and relational approach, Marissa helps clients work through past emotional experiences, life and career transitions, anxiety, sexuality and intimacy issues, wellness and self-care, as well as relationships with themselves and others.
Marissa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Family Science and a minor in Human Development from the University of Maryland, College Park. She then earned her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Johns Hopkins University, graduating with honors in her cohort. She completed all necessary coursework, trainings, and testing to receive her license in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
