Getting to know Mary Gates

Welcome, I would like to introduce myself. I am Dr. Mary Gates, I am an Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with over 20 years of experience as a therapist. I have dedicated my life to helping people regardless of their problems. I help find solutions that are effective and client centered. I recieved my Ph.D. in Clinical Pschology in 2006. I have a background in neuro-psychological assessments and evaluations, substance abuse assessments, bariatric and educational testing as well. But my true love is working directly with clients. I knew early in my life that I wanted to be a counselor. I have a favorite saying: "If you love your work, it will never be a job". Mine is not a job its a calling. I love working with children, adolesents, adults, and geratrics. Some of my past work experience includes working in outpatient, residential and inpatient settings. I have worked with veterans, active service men and women. I have worked with additctions of all types, and most mental health issues. I use only evidence based practices, or scientifically proven methods. As a rural based provider, I have great faith in telahealth and its ability to reach everyone who needs it. I consider myself a generalist. I specialize in the areas you present with. I work as hard as you do to make your sessions meaningful and engaging. And how do I do that?
