“Matthew went out of his way to put me at ease and make me comfortable. He was very patient, never interrupted me, but still made it a point to ask questions and give feedback so it didn't just feel like a vent session. Despite it being my first visit, he was able to make some points I hadn't thought of before that really brought some clarity to my situation. I'm really looking forward to working with him further.”

Getting to know Matthew Yetsko

Disclaimer: Providers at Canino Psychotherapy focus on therapy services and do not prescribe medication, as they are not psychiatrists. I utilize multiple treatment approaches in my therapy work, including aspects of adaptive behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, neuroscience, and mindfulness. I specialize in working with clients experiencing a wide range of issues such as social anxiety, relationship challenges, performance anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, general anxiety, chronic stress, eating disorders, and depression. I work with clients to help them effectively manage distress before it becomes overwhelming, while also exploring the origin and historical context of their distress. Drawing on neuroscience, I help clients understand how their brains react and create responses to stressors. I view anxiety symptoms not as a mental illness or something wrong with you, but rather as adaptations developed in response to stress and life experiences. Tools are individually created to change reactions to triggers and foster new behaviors. Don't just talk in therapy-do something different. I hold a Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, which informs my compassionate and evidence-based approach.

Matt was great. Helped me learn to cope with and manage my anxiety. He's also very knowledgable.
He was very nice, just not the right fit for me. But could be the right fit for other people!
Matt was extremely approachable & easy to talk to. He was very professional and friendly.
Nice enough. Young guy. Just wasn't the right fit for me I guess!
Matt is a good listner. I feel a lot better after we talk.

Matt is the best therapist I've seen (and I've seen a lot on and off over the years). He's kind, patient, and most importantly (to me) action-oriented. He helps me work on identifying and changing thoughts and behaviors that aren't working for me. So highly recommend!
