Getting to know Michael Kucmeroski

Michael (he/him) is an intern at myTherapyNYC and a Master of Social Work (MSW) student. He believes that each person carries unique strengths and inner resources that, with the right support, can be accessed to foster growth and healing. Michael is committed to practicing within an anti-oppressive framework and takes a culturally responsive approach to help clients connect with their full potential. Prior to joining myTherapyNYC, Michael worked in the world of fashion and styling. This experience provided him with the opportunity to work with a multitude of people, through which he enhanced his skills as an active listener and problem solver. Michael decided to pursue his MSW after years of being helped personally by the therapeutic process. Michael is passionate about LGBTQ+ issues and plans to make this a focus of his future work. Through a strengths-based and person-centered approach, Michael hopes to be a force for good for all clients seeking support. Michael has also been a Crisis Text Line volunteer since 2024. Michael identifies as a gay, cisgender, White, married man.
