Hi! Thanks for checking out my profile! My name is Mike and I am glad you're here! I received my masters degree in counseling from Fitchburg State University in 2017. What should a new client know about working with you?

I use a strengths-based, client-centered approach in working with my clients. I combine this focus with a cognitive-behavioral and solutions-focused informed counseling style to help others identify their short and long term goals, develop plans to achieve their goals, and troubleshoot any difficulties along the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When meeting a new client for the first time, I will work collaboratively with them to identify treatment goals and objectives and to gather helpful historical and current information in order to get to know them as a person. In a typical session session with a client, I will work with them to examine their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors using a cognitive-behavioral lens and to identify solution steps for current challenges using their stated goals and objectives as a guide for this process. Throughout these discussions I utilize a strengths-based and humanistic talk-therapy approach and work to provide and maintain a safe, supportive, and non-judging atmosphere. At times I will make use of assessments such as the GAD7 and PHQ9 to help with tracking feelings of anxiety and depression, where relevant. Safety plans will be conducted and reviewed as needed and where appropriate.
