Getting to know Michelle Vazquez

Ms. Michelle Vazquez brings immense expertise to her practice at Willow Behavioral Health as a psychotherapist, where she offers virtual consultations. She treats various mental health conditions and is keen to help the wider community receive the care they deserve. In her sessions, she provides patients with a safe space to discuss their concerns freely and helps them develop effective coping mechanisms. Ms. Vazquez earned her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Manhattan University. Since then, she has been committed to helping her patients enjoy a healthier and more fulfilling lifestyle.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In my sessions, I provide a safe space to discuss concerns freely and help you develop effective coping mechanisms. In addition to providing crisis psychotherapy, I help run our 8 week intensive outpatient program with both individual and group therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Willow Health provides short term virtual crisis care for individuals in mental health crises. Our team of psychiatrists, therapists, nurse practitioners, and certified peers create personalized care plans, offering 24/7 crisis support during your time in our program. Our services are short term in nature, lasting between 8-12 weeks depending on your needs. This means that at the end of your time with us, we’ll make sure you’re connected to ongoing care and support to continue your recovery outside of Willow Health. Part of our services include an 8 week, virtual Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for those who qualify. Be sure to let me know if you are interested in exploring this option. Getting started is simple. You can schedule an initial assessment as soon as today virtually, from the comfort of your home. Your first meeting will last about 90 minutes. You’ll talk with a me and a psychiatrist or psychiatric NP who will help design a treatment plan that works for you. Depending on your needs, your care may include medication management, therapy (including specialized support for thoughts of self harm) and care management. Additionally you’ll have the option to participate in recovery coaching, which includes working with a peer recovery coach, someone who has lived experience with mental health and/or substance use, and who will support you through your recovery journey. Our office is open Monday - Friday from 11a-7p ET with access to an after hours nursing triage line. If this is a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

Michelle is wonderful and very accommodating. She makes you feel welcome and provides you with the space to really talk without feeling like you’re being rushed or being judged, and that is very reassuring to me with the level of anxiety that I have. The communication on all levels from confirming insurance coverage to payments to the actual session is very top notch.
