Therapy can feel intimidating- you wonder will I be judged? Will I be heard? Understood? As a therapist I am curious to know you, all the parts of you. As human beings, we have such a vast amount of experiences and feelings that go with it, and how we process them. I believe every person has a gift, a purpose and a light within them and sometimes we just a need some reminding of what they are. Many times, we just need a space where someone will listen to us and offer support. As we build in this space together, I go at your pace and it will always be a judgement free zone. Sometimes we wonder how did we get here? What do I do next? Let’s process it together. I am client and compassion focused, we collaborate on your strengths and also take gentle approaches to shed light on areas we can make changes - if it’s through our thoughts, feelings, actions, etc. I believe it is necessary to have an integrative approach and not focus on one modality. I find it can be helpful to look at life stressors, relational patterns, using a psychodynamic approach all while using a very trauma informed lens. Over the years I have experience working with children, young adults, and adults experiencing life transitions, grief/loss depression, anxiety, experiencing difficult emotions, relational/self esteem issues, family conflicts, complex ptsd, chronic health issues, etc. I also have experience working with survivors of domestic violence.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I always want my clients to know that they are in a space with me where they can feel safe, heard, nurtured and no judgement whatsoever. I know how challenging it can be to take the first step to working with a therapist or if you are looking for the right therapist to click with. The fact that you are here shows such strength. As clients share their lives, I find myself immersed in them and want them to know that we are in this together, that this journey we embark on together is a special one and I honor it with such respect. I have more of an eclectic approach with clients and do not believe that one form of therapy applies to all. I am curious about you, your past, present, all parts of you that have led up to this day. Let’s go exploring together and see what we can find. If its processing trauma, relational issues, life stressors, life transitions, having difficulty with your mood, etc. I want to support you and let you know that you are not alone in this and that our therapeutic relationship is the most important to me of all. I truly believe we all deserve to live a life where it is meaningful, safe and full and I am so passionate about helping my clients achieve this.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy can feel terrifying and it is my hope that we can lessen this effect. I believe it is important to build trust in this therapeutic relationship and understandably so that this may take time. I go at your pace all while offering a very nurturing, safe and supportive space for you to express yourself. As we start to explore your reason for seeking therapy, over time we may dive into experiences that have affected us present day. Together we process those feelings, those moments, make those connections and see what we can do to make a difference in our lives - if it is to achieve a goal, better relationships, processing grief/loss or focusing on a happier and healthier you. Therapy to me means collaboration and I always tell my clients that we are in this together, I am just holding the torch while they are leading the way. I honor you, and you are in a space where there is compassion and never ending curiosity. I hear you, I see you.
