Psychotherapist
80 8th Ave, Ste 600, New York, NY
I am a licensed mental health counselor at MindWell NYC. I practice cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), meaning that we can work directly to manage and change thoughts and behaviors that are causing you difficulty. For example, you may have recurring negative thoughts about yourself that are not true or helpful, and we can work to update your narrative so that it is more in line with your reality and goals. I hold a certificate in rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) from the Albert Ellis Institute, an active approach where change is directly prioritized. I work with ages 13+ addressing anxiety, depression, life changes, relationship issues, maladaptive thinking, and trauma. I provide individual and group therapy via telehealth to adolescents and adults at MindWell NYC. I use a collaborative approach to treatment that includes interventions from REBT, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing (MI). I approach clients with directness, compassion, a non-judgmental stance, and a touch of humor. I earned my M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Queens College, City University of New York, and my B.A. in Psychology from Adelphi University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have experience and expertise working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, IBS, and relationship challenges. I am an active, engaged provider with a warm and genuine style. I would like to help you move towards your goals using the experience that I have. My practice will respond to any outreach quickly and are here to make your therapy sign-up process as simple as possible.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will initially speak to make sure that we are a good fit. During the intake, I will gather information about what you would like to work on now and what has been helpful and not helpful for you in the past. During sessions, we typically will review skills and homework, set an agenda for what we want to make sure we address that day, and review how you can begin to practice new things in your life.
