Nina Ythier is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice in Mount Vernon N.Y. She received her MSW degree from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work at Yeshiva University in New York City. She has over 23 years of clinical experience across a variety of settings including outpatient specialty clinics, crisis intervention, structured outpatient programs, large non-profit organizations, homeless shelters and private practice. Nina has also taught as an Adjunct Professor of Sociology at Dowling College and is a certified Field Instructor with Columbia University School of Social Work functioning as an extension of graduate school in the field in the capacity of gatekeeper, training Social Workers new to the field. Miss Ythier is also a certified Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapist and Vinyasa Yoga Instructor. She has provided clinical and administrative supervision to social work students, interns, and professionals. She has a broad range of clinical experience and provides psychotherapy for individuals, couples, families and groups - utilizing cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic and humanistic therapy modes. Before starting her private practice, Nina held numerous leadership and supervisory positions. In addition to an extensive background as a social worker for social service agencies, Nina learned to be a strong advocate for the people that she supports. These individuals and groups have included: children and families, domestic violence survivors, chronically mentally ill adults, the physically disabled and at-risk elderly, MICA (mentally ill-chemical abuser).
