My name is Dr. Norman Severe, and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology. I have worked in the local San Diego community for over 20 years. For the past 23 years, I have devoted my private practice to serving the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families in need of therapeutic and psychological support. I believe everyone can achieve great things in their lives by recognizing their strengths, working through struggles, and overcoming obstacles by persevering and never giving up. **My approach** I have advanced training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I utilize a combination of techniques and treatment strategies to help patients work from within a Strengths-Based Cognitive Behavioral Modality, enabling them to make gains in treatment and in their overall lives. **My focus** For over two decades, I have focused my private practice on supporting the mental health needs of children, adolescents, and families seeking therapeutic and psychological care. **My communication style** I believe my main strengths in working with patients come from meeting you where you are and providing a genuine, authentic therapeutic connection.
