What should a new client know about working with you?

When working with me, you can expect a warm, non-judgmental, and culturally affirming environment where your unique experiences and identity are respected and celebrated. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, meaning we will work together to set goals and develop strategies that fit your personal needs. I specialize in supporting individuals within the Latinx/Hispanic and LGBTQIA+ communities, so I’m sensitive to how cultural identity and lived experiences shape your relationship with mental health. My therapy style combines evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), with mindfulness techniques. This allows us to address both the underlying causes of your challenges and the immediate tools you need for coping and growth. I aim to create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered on your path toward healing and self-discovery.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The process begins with an initial intake session, where we will discuss your concerns, history, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. During this session, I’ll also gather relevant background information to better understand your cultural context, identity, and any specific challenges you may be facing, such as trauma, cultural struggles, or relationship dynamics. From there, we’ll collaborate on setting goals and choose the therapeutic approaches that best align with your needs. In each session, I use a combination of therapies, including CBT for identifying and challenging negative thought patterns, DBT for emotional regulation and coping skills, and EMDR to address past trauma. If you're in a relationship, I also use the Gottman Method Couples Therapy to strengthen communication and resolve conflicts. My goal is to guide you toward self-discovery, healing, and personal growth by addressing both the emotional and mental aspects of your challenges. I regularly check in on your progress to ensure we're on track and adjust our approach as needed to meet your evolving needs. Whether you're navigating cultural challenges, identity exploration, trauma recovery, or relationship dynamics, I'm here to support you every step of the way in a safe, inclusive, and healing space.

It’s common for mental health providers to be out-of-network. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network coverage, so you may get partially reimbursed. Learn more

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Ongoing session: $100-200 for 60 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Navigating insurance coverage and payments should be as simple as possible, and I am committed to making that a smooth process for you. Here’s how we handle payments and insurance coverage: 1. Verification of Benefits: Our team will verify your insurance benefits prior to your first session. This allows us to confirm your coverage and provide you with details about co-pays, deductibles, and what services are covered, such as therapy and psychological testing. We’ll make sure you have a clear understanding of your benefits before you come in for your first appointment. 2. Insurance Follow-Ups: If there are any issues with billing or insurance claims, our team will follow up with your insurance provider to ensure everything is processed correctly. We’ll handle the follow-up so you don’t have to worry about it. 3. Payment Options: For your convenience, we offer electronic payment options through a secure, easy-to-use system. Payments are due at the time of service, and we accept a variety of payment methods. If you are paying out-of-pocket, we offer competitive rates, and we are happy to discuss options with you. 4. Autopay: To streamline payments and reduce any hassle, we offer an autopay option. Once you’ve provided your payment details, your payments can be automatically processed after each session, allowing you to focus more on your therapy and less on administrative details. My team and I are here to make sure that everything related to your insurance and payments is taken care of efficiently, so you can focus on your healing journey without added stress.
