Dr. Patrick McMunn, PhD

Psychologist
WV
I am dedicated to helping people navigate struggles and challenges in daily living. Areas that I am most skilled in providing services are: grief and loss, overcoming fear and anxiety, depression, managing work/school stressors, gender identity issues, substance abuse, and relationship struggles. If you are experiencing any symptoms or features or psychological discomfort, help is only one click or call away. My approach I specialize in activating individuals to make positive changes to their struggles and challenges. A natural tendency of the human condition is to avoid situations that are too difficult to process. My journey with you will explore these experiences, and we will collaborate on ways to move towards painful struggles, as opposed to lifelong avoidance. My focus During our time together, the focus is on what you need to meet your goals, whatever they may be. My communication style I consider myself to be an empathetic listener and respond in a way that ensures trust and respect for what the other person is experiencing in their lives at that moment. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been a troubleshooter. I learned through my own journey of life that I also can appreciate where a person is in life and meet them where they are to help them get to where they want to go. My goals for you I help clients reach their goals through understanding patience in the therapeutic process. I acknowledge that emotional pain hurts and there are sometimes easier ways to reduce that pain. Sometimes, it might take a little more time and effort. We will be on that journey together. My first session with you Very relaxed. Initially, I may ask some questions to get to know the person better. As we move forward, I am okay letting them share whatever it is that brings them to meet me.
