Getting to know Paul Halpern

Seasoned licensed professional with decades of experience working with a diverse range of clients facing both long- and short-term issues. I offer Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and have extensive experience with trauma and PTSD. I specialize in working with your anxiety, helping you understand how it can work for you rather than debilitate you. I am warm and compassionate but use directive techniques when needed. Clients have described me as someone who has made a meaningful impact on their lives by understanding their psychology to maximize their potential and help them function at the highest level. Couples, families, and youth are welcome. Services offered include individual, family, group, and couples counseling, all available virtually through Telehealth. I hold a MEd in School Psychology from Loyola University Maryland and a Bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University. I have served as Executive Director of New Life Village, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Club Esteem, Evergreen Child and Family Services, and the Lupus Foundation, as well as Manager of the American Red Cross. Additionally, I have been Clinical Director at Prevention is Key, Columbia Hospital, RCA Juvenile Services, Ocean Institute, Main Line Day School, and Catholic Home for Girls. I have also worked as a Hospice Counselor, Psychotherapist, and Intake Coordinator.
