“For years I had been contemplating the idea of going to therapy but was frightened to start. I reached out to Rachel Grossman and she immediately responded and suggested we have an introductory meeting to see if we would be a good match. One therapy session at a time, I have realized there was no reason feel afraid. Going to therapy has been the highlight of the year for me and I couldn't be happier to have started. I would undoubtedly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a caring and compassionate therapist.”

Getting to know Rachel Grossman

Rachel holds a Masters in Clinical Social Work and has training in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and therapeutic dance. Rachel specializes in working with highly sensitive people, creative individuals, and those struggling with anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in deep respect for each person’s lived experience. I believe healing is a holistic process that involves the mind, nervous system, and emotional life, as well as our sense of meaning and connection. I see the body as an important source of information and healing, and I work with the whole person—not just the symptoms. When we work together, I aim to create a space where you feel safe, heard, and truly respected. I draw from Somatic Experiencing (SE) to support nervous system regulation and trauma healing, and I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients build compassionate relationships with their inner parts. Mindfulness-based psychotherapy is woven throughout our work to cultivate present-moment awareness, curiosity, and self-compassion. We move at a pace that feels safe and supportive, honoring your inner wisdom and capacity for change. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, more connected, and more able to respond to life with a greater sense of ease.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our sessions, you can expect a non-judgmental and gentle space where you are welcome just as you are. I make room for authenticity, turning inward, and meeting your experience with compassion and softness. My goal is to hold a steady, calm presence so you can feel safe enough to explore what is really going on for you. Some sessions may focus on practical skills and tools to support you in daily life, while others may be slower and more reflective, creating space to connect with your body or with parts of you that are asking for care and attention. We will work collaboratively to identify your goals, honoring what feels most important to you. As therapy unfolds, we’ll revisit and adjust these goals together, allowing the work to evolve in a way that feels supportive and aligned. Throughout the process, I’m here to support you with patience, respect, and a belief in your capacity for growth.

Rachel is great! She is an amazing listener and she tailors your sessions based on your needs. She is easy to talk to and she is able to create a very safe place where you always feel comfortable. She deeply cares about her patients and it shows!
I feel blessed to found her .I’m amazed how Rachel create safe, loving, kind space. I’m so exited to be on journey with her. I get my smile back thank you thank you thank you so much of your service ??????
I’ve been seeing Rachel for a while now and she really manages to let my guards down where most therapists I’ve seen didn’t. She’s pleasant but assertive. I highly recommend her if you’re into a different approach to therapy, not the kind that dwells on the past but one that talks about the present. And yes, there’s some new age-y stuff but she’s not taking herself too seriously. All in moderation.
Rachel is a really kind and caring therapist. She is incredibly warm (but not in a cloying way!) The exercises and practices she uses are really helpful to reducing my anxiety. I had a really weird therapist once who made me do a lot of role playing and wouldn't really listen when I said it wasn't for me. It's really rare (at least in my experience) to find a therapist who actually listens, rather than one who secretly wants to give you advice on how to live your life. I'd highly recommend her.
She is a wonderful therapist!
