Often people come in with relationship issues and are just not sure where to begin. They feel they have tried everything and it isn't working.
I listen closely to their stories, offer empathy for their experiences, and begin to offer them ways of doing things differently in slight ways at first. It is a small step method so they can grow comfortable with it and see how well it works.
If they are committed and are practicing, no matter the issue in the relationship, things will improve. They do not always get the result they are looking for, but things get much clearer and it is easier for them to see what solution they really want.
I hold a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University and a PhD in Clinical Sexology from the Modern Sex Therapy Institutes, which inform my approach to helping clients navigate their challenges.
