Rochelle Frehling, LCP

Psychologist
CA
My name is Rochelle Frehling, and I am a licensed Psychologist with a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies. I am passionate about working with people to learn how to more effectively manage their emotions and develop healthier relationships with themselves and others. I have a special interest in blended family issues, divorce, and parenting, using an eclectic approach tailored to your specific needs. My approach Through the therapeutic relationship, you can learn skills to become more resilient to stress, build your self-resiliency, and rework self-defeating patterns. I want to help you find your growth edge, support you in bettering yourself, assist you in making healthier choices, and help stop perpetuating unhealthy cycles. Sometimes, because of things we have gone through in our past, we develop protective strategies that end up keeping us stuck. My focus These protective strategies might help you feel safer but may also shrink your life and limit your opportunity to be your best, authentic self. We all have a need for relationships, but sometimes past experiences need to be reconciled so they don’t carry over into the present. We all can get triggered in relationships, but for some—especially those who have experienced trauma or are more genetically wired to be emotionally sensitive—emotions can feel overwhelming. You might find yourself either too activated or too shut down. Do you ever feel like your nervous system is sabotaging your relationships? Together, we can explore the origins of these “trigger” experiences, learn how to regulate them, become more psychologically flexible, and move toward a life less affected by fears. My communication style I aim to create a safe, supportive space while also being direct when needed, using a variety of modalities tailored to fit your unique needs.
