Some people come to therapy knowing exactly what they want help with. Others have a sense that something doesn't feel quite right, without being sure why. Most of us fall somewhere in between. Wherever you find yourself, it is a fine place to begin, and we'll make sense of the rest together. So much of feeling well comes down to balance. Work crowds out rest, worry takes up the room where joy used to be, or caring for everyone else leaves too little for you. My approach is holistic, which means we look at your whole life, not only the problem that brought you in: your relationships, your body, and the way you spend your days. When one part falls out of balance, the others feel it, and when it steadies, they recover too. Balance is health. I want to hear the whole story, including the parts you're not sure matter. I get to know you well, and together we'll identify concrete steps you can take between sessions. I also draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps you notice the thoughts that keep you stuck and respond to them in steadier ways. The goal is relief now and a sturdier footing that lasts. You don't need to wait until things get worse, or until you can explain exactly what's wrong. Sensing that life could feel better is reason enough to begin. I have openings now, in person in downtown Manhattan and online. If part of you feels ready for something to change, give that part a voice. Request a first session, and we'll take the next step together.
