What should a new client know about working with you?

I very much like a positive and holistic approach to therapy. I think it is important to find balance in your life and it starts with improving self-esteem and good self care. I like a person centered approach meaning you are in charge, we go at your speed and things should always be comfortable for you during therapy. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. We'll look at how your thoughts affect your emotions and experience. During treatment, I'll help you learn how to push back against those thoughts to change your feelings for the better.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I want to hear your story! I don't want anyone to feel uncomfortable or like they are giving up their past to someone they don't know. I believe in a trust based relationship and going at your pace as you are comfortable. During our initial sessions, we will delve into the issues at hand, and collaborate to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. My clients typically tell me how much better they feel after one session. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms within the first month and sustained improvement thereafter.
