This world can be demanding and chaotic. There are things that happen to us along the way that may have had a significant impact on us, whether we are aware of it, or not. Dealing with life issues alone can result in maladaptive thinking and behavior. I am passionate about assisting people by easing emotional pain and suffering. Since each person is unique, I cater my approach to the person's needs, whether that be through processing, learning, and assisting in building healthy coping skills. By actively listening to you, asking clarifying and depth provoking questions, we can explore and identify what's behind the struggles you are experiencing. In 2008, I graduated from the University of Indiana with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Now, as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), I have been working in individual practice for three years, after many years of working in the social work field. Prior to individual practice, I worked for a Community Center Board helping adults with IDD with behavioral challenges and overseeing their programming. I have also worked in hospice and hospital settings providing end of life and grief counseling, case management, resources, brief interventions, and initial assessments for identifying mental health conditions. Let's walk together. I have had success in helping many individuals in healing as well as providing insight into patterns that keep them from their potential and ability to experience joy, self-love and compassion, and healthy relationships. I treat depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, Bipolar Disorder, dissociation, personality disorders, PTSD, and suicidality. I use LGBTQ-IA plus informed care as well as Trauma Informed Care. We will collaborate on your goals while utilizing evidence based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Trauma Informed Care.
