As part of her educational training, Ms. Kourt attended Adelphi University, where she completed her master's degree in Social Work. Additionally, she has certificates from the National Institute for Psychotherapies in Psychodynamic Approaches, the Ackerman Institute for the Family in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and PESI in Clinical Anxiety Treatments.
Ms. Kourt is sensitive to the uniqueness of each patient's situation and adapts her consultations and treatment options accordingly. She believes that the best way to preserve and enhance lifelong health is to work with each patient and listen to their problems.
What should a new client know about working with you?
You know you best! I am interested in hearing your story from your perspective. I want to know all about your life up to this point, what brought you into therapy, and what you hope to achieve and why. I will ask questions about your childhood, background, culture, ethnicity, and more, everything that makes you you and gives me an idea of how you navigate the world and relationships. I have a multidimensional and quite eclectic style that can benefit an array of clients, as there is no one-size-fits-all anything in my book. I strive to create a warm, accepting, non-judgmental, and free space to explore anything at your pace with dignity, empathy, and a little bit of humor to create lasting life changes through peace and empowerment.
