I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) treating clients in New York State through Rula's telehealth platform. I work with adults of all ages and genders dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and trauma. I earned my Master's in Social Work from New York University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively. My approach to therapy is eclectic, drawing from a variety of therapeutic modalities depending on each client's presenting problems, life circumstances, and goals. The theoretical approaches I use most often include psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, humanistic, and relational therapies. I specialize in treating individuals who were bullied during childhood and adolescence. As a writer and journalist, I also have expertise in supporting creative individuals facing unique challenges. I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental environment where clients are respected and appreciated for their individuality, life experiences, and wisdom. I have always valued human connection above all else and am fascinated by how the mind works. I strongly believe that therapy, when done well, can profoundly improve quality of life. I can't imagine another field that offers the fulfillment I experience seeing clients reach their goals. I view therapy as a collaborative process and aim to support clients as they work toward the goals they set for themselves. During our first session, I will explore what brings you to therapy and learn as much as possible about your current situation. I will listen carefully and ask questions to ensure I fully understand the issues you face, and I will answer any questions you may have about the therapeutic process.
