About Sophie Piekla

Sophie Pielka is a licensed physical therapist in NJ. She became an athlete at a young age- swimming, playing soccer and lacrosse through high school and into college, so she was exposed to injuries early on. She started as a PT aide while attending college and after graduating with her Bachelor's in Exercise Science from Sacred Heart University in 2017, initially became a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. Enjoying training clients, she found she wanted to take it a step further and find a way to make their injuries feel better instead of just getting them stronger or to lose weight. After applying to and starting PT school, she gained experience on clinical rotations in treating sport-specific, post surgical operations, neurological, and acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions. She additionally gained experience in treating vestibular pathologies such as concussions and vertigo. Having graduated from New York Medical College with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2022, Sophie wishes to continue to broaden her horizons by treating a variety of cases to help patients return to an optimal level of functioning.
