Her work focuses on supporting adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, addiction recovery, and significant life changes. Drawing from a values-based and client-centered approach, Dr. MacKinnon partners with clients to identify meaningful goals, develop greater self-awareness, and create lasting positive change. She believes that periods of transition, while often difficult, can become opportunities for growth, resilience, and deeper personal fulfillment. Dr. MacKinnon utilizes evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion Therapy. Known for providing a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative therapeutic environment, Dr. MacKinnon tailors treatment to each individual’s unique needs and circumstances. What is your typical process for working with clients?

Patients will participate in an intake appointment where we will discuss presenting issues, history and background, as well as treatment goals. Following appointments will be focused on implementation of treatment goals and creating the change that brought you to therapy. We accept most major insurance carriers. We will help you get verified for appointments and bill for reimbursement. We also provide insurance invoices for those with out of network benefits.
