Getting to know Dr. Sylvie Messer
Welcome, I'm Dr. Messer, a licensed clinical psychologist, who is passionate about helping individuals navigate life's challenges and uncover their potential for growth and healing. I earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology with a health emphasis from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, where I received specialized training in the connection between mental and physical health.
I work with both individuals and couples, and I offer virtual sessions at this time.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I bring a compassionate and collaborative approach to therapy. I implement an integrative approach, employing different modalities such as CBT, DBT, CPT, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Harm Reduction.
I specialize in treating individuals with a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. I work collaboratively with clients, meeting you where you are and tailoring each session to align with your unique goals and needs, using evidence-based practices.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I believe therapy is a space for connection, understanding, and growth. I take a collaborative approach in coming up with your goals for treatment. Together, we’ll create a supportive environment where you can explore your feelings, overcome challenges, and move toward a life that feels more fulfilling.
