What should a new client know about working with you?

You want to do right by your child, but nothing seems to be working. Do you find yourself going between walking on eggshells and resorting to yelling? By the end of the day, many parents are left feeling emotionally drained, worried about their child, and wondering if they could have handled things differently. Together, we can identify your goals for yourself and your child and co-create a plan to get there. Whether your aim is to support your child through their challenging behaviors and emotions or establish your own family boundaries and values, you can gain confidence and joy in parenting through the everyday as well as stressful times. I listen fully and without judgement. I see the best in each person with whom I work. I am mindful and respectful of the role of culture in parenting. We will collaborate in identifying goals and a creating a plan for you and your family.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We will collaborate in identifying goals and creating a plan for you and your family. I am trained in a variety of evidence-based therapies, and we can discuss which approach or combination of approaches would be best suited to reach your goals. During our first session, we will discuss what brought you to therapy and what past experiences (good or bad) you've had with therapy in the past. I will share about my approach, and you will have the opportunity to ask questions or share concerns. We will explore some background information that will help me better understand the current issues, and we will begin the process of identifying your goals for therapy.
